CITY ATTORNEY

The City Attorney’s Office provides legal counsel for the City of Helena and serves as legal advisor to the Mayor, City Commission, City staff, boards, and commissions.

The City Attorney’s Office is also responsible for:

• prosecuting misdemeanors and City Code violations committed within the city limits;
• representing the City in litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings;
• preparing and reviewing ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, easements, and other legal documents;
• rendering legal interpretations and opinions as requested by the City Manager and City Commission.
