Reserve/Auxiliary Officers

The Helena Police Department implemented a volunteer Reserve Officer Program in 1983. Reserve officers provide necessary assistance to the H.P.D. sworn officers, and dedicated service to the community. The majority of the Reserve officer's time is spent on computer/administrative support and community relations. The Reserve officer is involved in the Officer Friendly, McGruff House, and 911 training for Helena elementary school children.

The Helena Police Department Auxiliary Officers also assist the Helena Police Department in providing the Helena community with community relations programs. The programs include public speaking on law enforcement topics, and 9-1-1 education. These public service ambassadors of the Helena Police Department provide an invaluable service as crime prevention advocates and community educators.
