Helena Police Department Special Projects

Special Projects reflect the diverse needs of the Helena community. After an officer has completed their first year of service with the Helena Police Department, they are eligible to apply for available openings in special projects. Several of the special projects like SWAT and CDT are in addition to the officer's regular duties. Others like SRO and DARE become the officer's full-time assignment.

Officers assigned to special projects have excelled in patrol duties and are willing to accept additional responsilbility and challenges. Special projects allows officers to serve the citizens of Helena by becoming specialists in meeting specific needs within the community.
