HELENA POLICE DEPARTMENT BIKE PATROL

The Helena Police Department Bicycle Patrol is a program designed to enhance law enforcement services in the downtown area through the use of officers patrolling the areas on bicycles. The program not only stresses police enforcement, but also public relations with the citizens and businesses in the patrol areas.
The Bicycle Patrol’s primary function is to work within the downtown area, however officers and equipment are also utilized by the departments School Resource Officers, Helena Housing Authority Officer and Officers assigned to such events as the Last Chance Stampede, Vigilante Parade and Governor’s Cup Race.
Helena Police Department Bicycle Patrol Officers routinely provide bike safety instruction to various community organizations.
