Comprehensive Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan
In 1995, the City Commission approved funding to create a parks, recreation, and open space plan. The plan was adopted in 1998. Lewis and Clark County joined the city in the process and also adopted its plan at that time. A joint city-county parks board was created as one of the recommendations of the plans. The City-County Parks Board meets the first Wednesday of each month and consists of members appointed by the city and county commissions and a permanent member from the school district. The Parks Board’s goals are described in the adopted plan.
A hard copy of the plan may be viewed either at the City Clerk's office, the Lewis & Clark Library, or the Parks and Recreation office.
